Kitchens and bathrooms are where a deep clean is won or lost. They hold the most grease, the most limescale and the most bacteria, and they are the two rooms guests notice immediately. When our team performs a deep clean in Hanford or anywhere across the Central Valley, roughly two thirds of the time on site goes into these two rooms alone.
The single most important principle is sequence. Always work from the top of the room downward. If you clean the floor first and then wipe the cabinet tops, everything you dislodge lands on the floor you just finished. Ceiling fixtures, then cabinet tops, then cabinet fronts, then counters, then appliances, then baseboards, then floors. Following that order once beats redoing three surfaces twice.
In the kitchen, start by emptying the counters completely. Cleaning around a toaster and a knife block is tidying, not cleaning. With the surfaces clear, spray degreaser on the range hood, the backsplash and the stovetop and leave it to dwell for five to ten minutes. Dwell time is what does the work — scrubbing immediately after spraying wastes both product and effort.
While the degreaser sits, move to the inside of the oven and the refrigerator. For the oven, a paste of baking soda and water left overnight lifts baked-on carbon far more effectively than most aggressive commercial products, and without the fumes. For the refrigerator, remove every shelf and drawer and wash them in the sink rather than trying to wipe them in place.
Bathrooms follow the same top-down logic but with one addition: hard water. Throughout Kings, Tulare and Fresno counties the water leaves heavy mineral deposits on glass shower doors, taps and sinks. General-purpose cleaner will not touch established limescale. You need an acidic descaler — a dedicated product or plain white vinegar — and again, dwell time. Apply, wait fifteen minutes, then agitate with a non-scratch pad.
Grout deserves separate attention. Discoloured grout makes an otherwise spotless bathroom look neglected. A stiff nylon brush and an oxygen-based cleaner will restore most grout without the damage that bleach causes over repeated applications. Work in small sections and rinse thoroughly.
Do not overlook the details that signal a genuine deep clean: the tracks of shower doors, the underside of the toilet seat hinges, the extractor fan cover, switch plates, and the top edge of doors. These are the points a landlord or property manager checks first during an inspection, and they are precisely what routine cleaning misses.
Finish both rooms with floors, edges included. A vacuum with a crevice tool along the baseboards before mopping removes the hair and grit that otherwise turns into streaks. If you would rather not spend a full weekend on this, our deep cleaning service covers every item above as standard.
